During a meeting at RAF College Cranwell, the IARS Office is officially transferred from the Netherlands to the UK. After his second term as the secretary and in total 24 years of membership of the IARS, Major Hans van Buren handed over the signed Letter of Intent to Group Captain Paul White. Van Buren will retire on 1 November 2022.

The 27th International Air Reserve Symposium will be hosted by the Australian Air Force, September 2023. During the closing of the 26th IARS, the Chairman Major-General Bret Larson handed over the official IARS gavel to Australia, in a virtual way.

The 26th International Air Reserve Symposium was hosted by the US Air Force Reserve Command, 13 - 16 September 2022 at Homestead Air Reserve Base, Florida.

Over the last 30 years, the International Air Reserve Symposium has provided a valuable forum for Senior Air Reserve representatives from global Air Forces and Air Reserve Components of the IARS members, to discuss common 'Air Force Reserve' topics. Established in 1992, IARS accomplishes this obective by sharing experiences and information, and co-operating on Air Force topics.
The Committee on Leadership Development (COLD), as a committee of the IARS, is responsible for both the courses: International NCO Leadership Development (INLEAD) and International Junior Officer Leadership Development (IJOLD). News about these courses can also be found at this website.
